The 1960 Beetle
The VW chief executive at that time Nordhoff tried to keep the Beetle on the technical standard of that time. Apart from its quality the constant improvements guaranteed its ongoing success. By that time the large panorama rear window became standard. The power of the export model reached 34 PS, the fully synchronized gear box ensured a quiet changing of the gears. The speedometer saw two changes: an extended speedometer up to 140 km/h and the reintroduction of the painted speedoneedle made of metal. The 1960 Beetle cronos are of course as all the others identical to the original speedometers of the 1960 Beetle models.
