The “pagoda silhouette”, incorporating the typical SL face with the large Mercedes star served to create that certain prestige value. The 230 SL was considered one of the most cultivated sports cars, whereby the secret of its success lay in the successful combination of performance, open-top driving and easy handling.
Eugen Böhringer triumphed with the 230 SL at the murderously destructive Lüttich – Sofia – Lüttich Rallye. The 230 SL - 280 SL were also the trailblazers for the SL successes right up to the present day.

Watch dial

The unmistakable design elements (speedometer dial, speedometer needle with central covering) of the original Mercedes 190 SL speedometer have been transferred to the watch dials in absolute detail. The ancillary hour hand with its white tip makes telling the time a thing of ease.
